Welcome to the Waterloo Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) online application system.
Eligibility:
Anyone may apply to the Section 8 waiting list, however preference is given to elderly (62+), disabled, and families. If you are a single-person household under the age of 62 and non-disabled, you will remain at the bottom of our waiting list indefinitely, unless your circumstances change. Information Needed: Valid e-mail address to create your account, social security numbers, birth dates, assets and income information for everyone in the household.
Documentation Required:
1. Valid picture identification.
2. Social security cards for all household members.
3. Proof of your current address (copy of current lease or utility bills at that address, current check stub with that address, or recent government mail to that address).
Failure to provide the above information within 30 days will result in your application being de-activated.
Please Note: The current wait time for a Section 8 Voucher to become available is approximately 18 months - 2 years from the time of application.
