your interest regarding the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Section 8 Rental
Assistance Program with the Encinitas Housing Authority in the City of
Encinitas, California. Our waiting list is currently open; however, due to the
high volume of individuals on the waiting list and program attrition rates, the
current estimated wait to receive rental assistance is over ten years for
eligible applicants. Please be aware that the first priority preference for the
program is given to persons who live or work in the City of Encinitas. As such,
the Encinitas Housing Authority anticipates that your name will not be reached
if you do not presently live or work in Encinitas. For additional program eligibility

If you live outside of the City of Encinitas, or the State of California, then please contact the Housing Authority that covers the area in which you live. Please note that the San Diego County Housing Authorities have a cooperative agreement to transfer waiting list applications to each other. If you would like your application transferred to another San Diego County Housing Authority, then please contact Encinitas Housing Authority staff to coordinate an application transfer.
Once your application
is completed and submitted, you will receive a confirmation notification that
you are on the Encinitas Housing Authority’s waiting list. Please be aware that
as an applicant, it is your responsibility to update your application with the
Encinitas Housing Authority if any changes to your household composition,
income, residence and/or mailing address, email address, or phone number, etc.

the Assistance Connect portal. You will receive your log-in credentials once an

There is no
need to reach out to Encinitas Housing Authority staff to inquire about your status

The Encinitas Housing Authority will contact you directly by mail when your name is reached on the
waiting list with instructions on what you must do for us to determine if you
