The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is a federally funded program that subsidizes safe, decent, and sanitary housing for low-income persons. Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development eligibility criteria. There are no fees associated with applying to the waiting list and any website requesting a fee in order to apply are not legitimate and not related to Keene Housing.

HOW: Only one application per household will be accepted. Duplicate or fraudulent applications will be rejected.
There are no fees associated with applying to the waiting list and any website requesting a fee to apply are no legitimate and not related to Keene Housing.
WHERE: Applications can be submitted ONLINE with the use of a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
INFORMATION NEEDED: Full legal names, Social Security number (Head of Household), and birthdates. The information you provide must be truthful and complete to the best of your knowledge. An email address or phone number will be required. To complete the application process, you will create a login and password. Please keep this information.
WAIT TIMES: Keene Housing does not provide emergency or immediate housing. The amount of time you will wait before your application is selected may be months to years.
Voucher turnover and HUD funding may also affect the wait time before you application has been selected.
Wait list applicants are required to report any changes of contact information, in writing, to Keene Housing (see underlined section below).
Applicants are subject to 24 CFR 982.353(c)(2) which requires households to lease a unit in Keene Housing’s Area of Operation during the 12-month period from the time when the household is admitted to the program.
REASONABLE ACCOMMODATON: It is the policy of Keene Housing to provide reasonable accommodations to those persons with disabilities so that they can participate equally in its housing programs.

If your contact information changes after submitting the preliminary application it is your responsibility to update your contact information. You must notify Keene Housing in writing
of the change in contact information. If we are unable to contact you, Keene Housing may remove you from the waiting list.
This application must be submitted electronically using this system to create a receipt of application.
