The mission of the Housing Authority of Carbon & Emery Counties is to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for lower income families, elderly and disabled individuals.
The Housing Authority offers two Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs. One is public housing, which is available only in Carbon County. We have 121 units that are owned and manage by the housing authority. The second program is the Housing Choice Voucher program, commonly known as section 8. This is where a client finds a home or apartment in the community and the rent is subsidized by the Housing Authority. This program is available in both Carbon and Emery counties.
