Welcome to the La Crosse Housing Authority waiting list application site.
Please read through the following information before completing your application so that you can provide accurate information. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please be sure to read through each question carefully and answer appropriately.
The following information will be needed to complete an application:
Legal Name for all household members
Social Security number or alien registration number for all household members (will need to be provided at a later time)
Date of birth for all household members
Current address (accurate mailing address, if different)
Current phone number
Current income information (including but not limited to: wage income, benefit income, disability benefits, child support, etc.)
Valid e-mail address that is checked often
Please make sure you have typed all information correctly. Submission of pre-application does not guarantee placement on the waiting list. Only one pre-application will be accepted.
It remains the applicant's responsibility to notify LHA, in writing, of any updates to application. Updates include, but not limited to: change of income, household size, address, phone number or e-mail address. If you have any changes or updates, you must notify the Housing Authority in writing. Please email changes to LHAWaitlist@lacrossehousing.org or mail to La Crosse Housing Authority, P.O. Box 1053, La Crosse, WI 54602-1053.
Placement on a waiting list does not indicate that the family is, in fact, eligible for assistance. A final determination will be made when the family is selected from the wait list.
There are no fees associated with applying for any LHA program. Any website requesting a fee in order to apply is not legitimate and not related to the Housing Authority of the City of La Crosse.
Once the pre-application has been submitted you will receive a receipt page with a reference number. The receipt page will also list what happens next. Please keep this page!
The length of the waiting list varies due to limited number of available units / funding. Offers of housing are made from the waiting list and there are many factors that determine how quickly we may be able to offer you housing. Staff will contact you when your name is nearing the top of the list.
Reasonable Accommodations: LHA does not discriminate on the basis of disability status in the admission or access to, or treatment of applicants or participants in, its federally assisted programs and activities. If you or any member of your family is a person with disabilities, and you require a specific accommodation in order to fully utilize our program and services, please contact the LHA via phone at (608) 782-2264 or email at LHAWaitlist@lacrossehousing.org .
